The SOEKS 01M MkII Geiger counter is engineered to the same precision standards as our other models, using the latest SBM-20-1 Geiger-Müller sensor technology to detect and estimate background radiation levels based on the magnitude of ionizing radiation. It is simple to use, compact, and combines the reliability and accuracy of expensive laboratory equipment.

In practical terms, this device is used to identify potential radioactive contamination in food products, water, construction materials, as well as your local environment. When evaluating foodstuffs, it can accurately analyse radiation through shrink-wrapped packaging which means removal of the wrapping is not necessary.

The new faster processor allows the operating system to load in a few seconds so that you can begin measuring background radiation levels immediately.

A sharp increase/decrease of background radiation during measurement is now marked with the appearance of a red/green arrow.

The 01M also records the cumulative dose of radiation. In other words, by taking regular radiation readings wherever you go, the device will continue gathering data so you can see the amount of exposure you have been subjected to over your chosen period of time.

With a single battery charge lasting up to 500 hours (approximately 3 weeks of continual use), the SOEKS 01M can be switched on permanently which can be particularly useful when travelling or when navigating an unknown environment such as construction or archeological sites.

The new “Search Mode” makes the SOEKS 01M stand out from competing products. When in “Search Mode”, the 01M becomes hyper-sensitive to radiation. Just leave it switched on and carry it in your pocket. When abnormal levels are detected, an alarm will sound.

Its high grade rubber infused plastic casing gives improved protection and enhances grip thereby reducing the risk of dropping the device.

The SOEKS 01M displays radiation like a traffic light so even a child can use it:

GREEN - Normal Background Radiation ( safe )

AMBER - High Background Radiation ( avoid )

RED - Dangerous Background Radiation ( RUN! )

You do not need to know anything about safe levels of radiation nor have any specific scientific skills. The actual radiation amount is still displayed for expert users and professionals as these figures may be important for them.
